This travel check list PDF covers a wide range of things related to planning for travel.

I’ve personally created this checklist PDF from tips I’ve learned in 7 years of traveling. I’ve made mistakes, left things behind and denied boarding due to not having an entry visa – I want to make it so you skip those unpleasant and stressful moments.

You’ll have help to decide where to travel, what to pack, how to plan and important questions to ask yourself about your adventure.

Where do I want to travel?

First up, it gives you space to plan exactly where you want to travel.

Whether it’s around the world trip visiting plenty of countries along the way, or a deep journey through one country,  writing down the places you want to visit will make it much more real.

Questions to ask yourself

Next comes a whole bunch of questions designed to cover everything from activities you want to do, to if you need a tourist Visa for these places.

You can fill in what appeals about these countries and specifically where you want to visit. This helps to narrow down exactly what you’re hoping to get from this trip and how to get those experiences.

Page 3 then goes into questions you should answer about each country – like do you need a Visa, have you got the right travel insurance, vaccinations, currency, and transport. This small amount of preparation helps you ensure you leave nothing unchecked.

As your travel draws closer and closer, you will have plenty of things to tick off your checklist for travel PDF and this makes it easy to not miss a thing.

With 6 months to go, making sure you have a valid passport and any flights are good to tick off early.

As you get anywhere from 1-3 months out, choosing great travel insurance is an important step in the travel planning process. You should also be getting any vaccinations you will need as some take multiple doses.

Deciding what route you want to take and booking cheap flights or buses, trains and ferries are a great thing to tick off pretty early. You can always change your plans if you need, but being rushed to book things can make it easy to overlook things and often more expensive.

As months turn into weeks, your focus should shift to smaller things – such as international driving permits (if needed) or having a pretend pack to identify any missing items you will need.

The last week can be quite stressful if you have plenty of things still to complete. Don’t worry, this PDF has got you covered!

Do you need to:

  • Organize contact information with friends or family
  • How will you get to and from the airports
  • Are there any bill’s you need to pay while you’re away
  • First night accommodation is required by some countries upon entry

There are a number of other things to consider that are laid out in this printable travel checklist PDF you may want to make sure is all ticked off.

The day before should be pretty easy and relaxing (although, sometimes it’s not). Make sure to double-check all your bags contents and lock your doors and windows as you leave.

This checklist PDF for travel goes into a bit more details than I’ve covered here – but before you download it instantly, there’s still more to cover with what you’ll be able to do easy and efficiently.

This section of the check list takes you through planning. Here you’ll find over 15 questions to help you plan your travel, including:

  • What bags will you need
  • Have you got the correct travel insurance?
  • Is your passport valid
  • Will you need to apply for visas
  • Are your destinations safe
  • What route will you take
  • How will you get around

By answering these questions, you build a solid framework and ensure that your travel goes as smooth as possible.

Some of these questions may alert you to possible culture shocks while traveling. Make sure you can identify and overcome a culture shock.

Packing travel check list PDF

Packing your bag can be full of anxiety if you’re worried about leaving something important at home. The second last page of this printable travel checklist PDF is all about making sure your bag contains everything you need.

There are over 15 questions that cover the most important things every traveler needs in their backpack:

  • Valid passport
  • Wet weather gear
  • Any guidebooks to make travel easier – I personally love Lonely Planet.
  • Cards and/or cash
  • Quick-dry towel

By ticking these items off one by one, you can feel safe you’re not leaving anything important at home.
