With so many reasons why, Central Backpackers Hostel – Old Quarter is where I stayed during my visit to Hanoi. They are cheap, clean, and comfortable, along with a host of other features and helpful staff.

Rating a 9.5 on Booking.com and 4.5 stars on  TripAdvisor, this affordable hostel in Hanoi has seen thousands of happy customers. For a bunk bed, you’re looking around 144,000 Vietnamese Dong (VND) – ($6.20 USD) and 575,000 VND ($24 USD) for a private double room.

So what makes this backpacker hostel in Hanoi the best? Well, it’s a number of things. My personal favorite touch is an after-checkout shower. Catching an overnight bus to SaPa was much easier feeling fresh and clean!

Central Backpackers Hostel in Hanoi also organizes a walking tour of Hanoi. Just throw your name on the list and get ready to learn about some of the memorable sights in Hanoi from a local. This Hanoi hostel also organizes pub crawls and cooking tours. Many sights around Hanoi are within walking distance of the Old Quarter Central Backpackers Hostel – around 1 km to Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre.

If you want to have a shop around for another cheap hostel in Hanoi, there are plenty of options out There in the capital of Vietnam. Judging from reviews and ratings from Booking.com and TripAdvisor, these three budget hostels in Hanoi are also fantastic places to stay!

 

Little Charm Hanoi Hostel

Little Charm Hostel in Hanoi holds the highest rating on both Booking.com and TripAdvisor. It’s not an easy thing to do with so many places to stay in Hanoi. I guess there is a “Little Charm” about this place…right?!

Many travelers have commented saying how the location of this backpackers Hostel in Hanoi is perfect – gaining the hostel a 9.7 out of 10 for location on Booking.com.

For 160,000 VND ($7 USD)  a hostel bed and 370,000 VND ($16 USD) for a private, it doesn’t cost much to stay in the highest

There’s also a pristine looking pool with a small waterfall and a restaurant inside the hostel itself – which visitors only have good things to say about.

Babylon Garden Inn

If you’re looking for a hostel with parking, along with many other features and facilities, the Babylon Garden Inn is another of the best backpacking hostel in Hanoi.

The cost of renting a parking space is 20,000 VND ($0.80 USD) per day and is close to the accommodation itself.

A beautiful indoor pool is a perfect way to escape the Vietnamese sun, and buffet breakfast included and a rooftop restaurant you’ll never be too far from a great meal.

One of my favorite points about Babylon Garden Inn is the security and privacy offered in the dorm settings. A privacy curtain is a great feature when you feel like unwinding without being in the view of your roommates.

For a dorm bed, you’re looking around 130,000 VND ($5.50 USD) and a private, 610,000 VND ($26 USD) a night.

The Signature Inn

The Signature Inn is another highly reputable hostel in Hanoi. A dorm bed is only 96,000 VND ($4 USD) a night, and 370,000 VND ($16 USD) for a private room, this Hanoi hostel gets an 8.5 out of 10 on Booking.com.

Only a short distance to Ga Long Bien Train Station, the entire city of Hanoi is daily accessible. With a tasty in house restaurant and a rooftop terrace, it’s not hard to meet travel buddies and enjoy a cheap meal.

The helpful staff are knowledgeable and can help you book a range of activities and tours, as well as bicycle rental if you feel like braving the chaotic streets of Hanoi.
