WHO IS BEHIND HORIZON UNKNOWN?
My name is Ben, I’m an Australian, currently living in Canada, with 60+ countries visited in over 6 years of travel – and counting.
Horizon Unknown was created in 2017 with the vision of helping budget-minded travelers discover their new destination and beginners find their love for travel.
Since its birth, Horizon Unknown has steadily grown by 10 to 30 percent every month and continues to gain readership and following every day.
When it’s all said and done, I love every aspect of travel – new cultures, ways of life, ancient monuments, delicious and unique cuisine, the list goes on and on. I aim to pass that passion on through each piece of content.
Travel should be about leaving a positive impact in every interaction – whether that be a local or a destination itself.
I produce quality travel content. This includes mainly writing and photography, with a small amount of video. Every piece of information, whether visual or text, is created with my audience as the center of attention.
After all, I’m here to help people travel, so it must provide valuable and accurate information to those interested in the topic.
With this mindset, creating meaningful content occurs daily. I would love to work with brands that align with my audience that would extend that value to my readers.
TRAVEL WRITING
I love writing about travel – from basic tips on how to travel, how to get more from travel and informational itineraries on what to experience in a location.
My writing focuses directly on the reader, transporting my audience into a destination with the aim of budget-friendly and more fulfilling travel experiences.
I believe travel is the best teacher out there – the lessons you can learn about this planet and other ways of life are second to none – I hope to inspire my reader to book their next journey.
Anecdotal style posts are always relatable and informative. For example, Nanjing in China has an interesting airport policy that frustrates many first time visitors – my guide To Nanjing Airport has generated 28 comments from travelers who related to this article on a personal level and helped many become aware of the unusual process in Nanjing.

Photography is one tool I use to showcase a destination, and along with a solid editing style, images on Horizon Unknown transport the reader directly into a location.
